IBISCUS

The IBISCUS application
consists of two parts:

  • customer billing, the billing and production of invoices for the customers of the company
  • inter-carrier billing, the billing and production of invoices to operators with which inter-carrier relations exist, or the checking of the corresponding invoices produced by other operators.

For the customer billing invoices can be voice traffic invoices, for all the calls and traffic on the network created by the customers, or data invoices, for all data items sold to customers (i.e. leased lines, etc.). It is possible that a common invoice is produced for customers integrating both voice and data items.

A number of voice services are already supported, including

  • national and international services
  • direct or indirect (carrier select services)

Value added services are also supported like

  • 0800 numbers
  • 0900 numbers

Special customization and configuration is required for the implementation of the system in a new setting.
The creation of new services is straightforward, based on a rule based model.
The creation of new data items can be easily done by the end users of the system.

A large number of different configurable discount types is supported, such as:

  • destination discounts
  • volume discounts
  • service discounts

The rating of the calls is based on a flexible, customizable and fast rating engine implemented in Java, while all data are stored using the Oracle RDBMS.

A number of application clients support:

  • Customer and contract management
  • Pricing policy management
  • Invoice production
